1. What relevance do the college values of integrity, fairness, respect, and responsibility have to your success as a member of the Westminster community?
--I believe these values are of great importance no matter what community you are a part of. However, they are especially important to Westminster because our community has very high standards to uphold. Students of Westminster already have integrity, fairness, respect, and responsibility, otherwise we would not be students here. If I want to be successful at Westminster, I must uphold and exceed these values throughout my college years by doing my best, doing my own work, being respect to myself and others, and doing all my work the best I can.
2. Why is it important for us to talk about the mission and values of the college?
--It is important for us to talk about the mission and values of the college because both students and faculty need to be reminded of the kind of person they need to be. If we are constantly being told who to be then we will become that type of person. These are also the values that employers and adults will look for when we are looking for jobs and new opportunities.
3. Reflect on the activity we did in class where you were asked to think of an example of how you might demonstrate one of these values while here at Westminster. What do you think you would need from the College in order to assist you in living these values?
--As college students we should be able to take care of ourselves. That being said, we still need motivation and inspiration to keep going. In order to uphold/carry-out these values, us students need acceptance from our Westminster community and we will need lots of support! If we have no motivation to uphold these values, motivation which can only come from our Westminster community, we will fail at having these values.
