Journal #2

1. What did you learn about sexual violence that you didn't know previously?
I was always very educated about sexual violence and the issues that come along with it. Our high school was very good at getting the word out. So a lot of things, thankfully, I had heard already. It was good to learn the numbers and resources to go to if anything like that occurred here at Westminster.

2. What would you do if a friend told you he/she had been sexually assaulted?
If my friend told me that he/she had been sexually assaulted I would just listen to them. All they need is someone to listen and believe them. I will support whatever they decide to do about it, but I may anonymously contact a service to raise awareness that something on this campus happened without exposing names.

3. Personal reaction to the video, Mizzou presentation and class discussion about sexual assault.
I thought the video from Mizzou was very creative and well done. It adds a very personal touch to all women, especially those of us around that area. The class discussion was a good idea because it lets people talk about what's on their minds and asks questions about what to do.
